A Quiet Spell is a series of oil paintings set within an imagined medieval world of knights, sorcerers, and solitary witnesses. Developed over the course of a year, the paintings emerged through a process of working across multiple canvases at once, allowing unexpected relationships and recurring themes to surface over time.

The work explores uncertainty, attention, and the limits of control, using symbolic imagery to approach contemporary experience indirectly. Rather than illustrating a single narrative, the paintings reflect a period of sustained observation in which meaning gradually revealed itself through the act of painting.
