Fair to Midland is a series of oil paintings based on time spent with family and working alongside people on Maine’s waterfront. The paintings reflect skills and knowledge learned through observation and repetition—tasks done daily, gestures repeated, and experience passed from one person to another.

The ocean and fire appear throughout the work as recurring elements drawn from this environment. These paintings are shaped by the physical rhythm of labor and by an approach to life that values showing up, working steadily, and allowing meaning to emerge through the process.
