Gavin D. McSkeane is a painter and art educator based in Maryland. Working primarily in oil, his paintings are rooted in realist draftsmanship and lived experience. Much of his work is informed by summers spent working aboard the freight boat to Monhegan Island, Maine, where labor, repetition, and place shape both subject and process. His paintings depict the working waterfront, and quiet moments of endurance and care.
